The story of Harbinger’s Haven began in the autumn of 2005 when Adrian purchased the first parcel of land that is now only part of Harbinger’s Haven.  His vision was to build an area with a New England coastal theme and the property seemed perfect for that;  but  Adrian was faced with a daunting problem:  he was very new to Second Life and a was a novice builder at best.  However, he had had the good fortune of befriending Bellissa Dion who is an accomplished builder with an exceptional skill for SL landscaping and gardens.  Adrian approached Bellissa and asked her to join him in the venture.  She agreed and the odyssey that is Harbinger’s Haven was launched.  Bellissa and Adrian settled on the idea of a New England styled shopping area and construction began.  Bellissa did most of the heavy lifting given her gift for building and Adrian helped, learning as he went and under her guidance.  After many hours of work Harbinger’s Haven took shape and was transformed into a lovely shopping area of rental shops set amidst the landscaping and gardens that Bellissa meticulously created.

As Harbinger’s Haven evolved Adrian and Bell bought more land, added, reduced and constantly tried to make improvements.  The shopping area was quite successful, but as demands on their time increased they began to discuss other options that would be less demanding.  It was Bellissa that suggested that rather than focusing on commerce, Harbinger’s Haven could offer a more pleasant and safer sandbox for builders in Second Life.  Adrian thought it was a wonderful idea and Harbinger’s Haven Builder’s Sandbox was born and so exists to this day.  Bellissa has compiled countless free textures into user-friendly texture panels.  Likewise, she has set up tutorial and panels that include video.  Adrian and Bellissa assist builders and act as sentries to ward off those that would make trouble.

Harbinger’s Haven is a wonderful place and will be that way for a long time because it is as old and as new as a good friendship.
